Field(s) of research :

• Solution and solid state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
• in-situ photo-NMR
• Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR)
• DFT calculation of NMR, NQR and IR parameters

Description of research:

My research mainly focusses on the development of nuclear resonance spectroscopy (solid and solution state NMR, NQR) in order to establish and understand the relationship between the molecular structure and the material properties. The originality of our approach lies in the combination of solution and solid state NMR techniques with the information obtained from total X-ray diffraction coupled to Pair Distribution Function analysis (PDF).
I order to interpret in more details the NMR measurements, in terms of structure and dynamics, I apply Density Functional Theory (DFT)to establish structural models and simulate NMR and IR spectra.
I recently started a new research topic, focusing on photo-NMR characterization of photo-commutating materials. In this respect we develop in-situ and ex-situ approaches to perform NMR on photoinduced states in solution and solid state.
